It takes approximately 2 hours to reach Locarno from Milan or Zurich. Arriving from the north, take the international Basel-Milan or Zurich-Milan railway. From the south, take the Milan-Central line via Como. From Locarno Central Station take bus number 1 (in the direction of Ascona) or bus number 7 (in the direction of Losone), and alight at the Cinque Vie stop.
Take the A2 Bellinzona Sud “Lago Maggiore” motorway exit for Locarno and at the end of the highway take the Mappo Morettina tunnel: at the end of the tunnel follow the signs for Locarno; at the large roundabout take the fifth exit and go along Via Simen to the traffic lights; turn right into Via San Francesco and drive to Piazza S. Francesco.
