Daniel Spichtinger, M.A. is expert in EU research policy & Horizon 2020, focused on open access to scientific publications and FAIR/open data. Daniel has been working on EU funded projects since 2004, in the areas of eHealth, ICT, SME support and the knowledge based bio-economy, in particular the MoniQA Network of Excellence on EU cooperation in food safety (FP6). In his capacity as EU project consultant for scientists, he has been involved “hands on” in the preparation of EU grants as well as project management and communication.
From January 2012 to January 2018 Daniel Spichtinger was employed by the European Commission as senior policy officer for open access to scientific peer-reviewed publications and research data. In this capacity he contributed to the development of open access policies in Horizon 2020. In this context he interacted with the Member States and relevant external stakeholders, providing presentations and trainings as well as managing projects in this area. As of September 2018 Daniel has registered as an independent specialist for EU Research policy as well las having started a part time position with the Ludwig Boltzman’s Open Innovation in Science Center in Vienna, Austria.
Gabi Schneider, M.A. and scientific librarian, studied English, German and Romance studies at the University of Zurich. Her profile combines many years of professional experience in various areas of librarianship and information management – often at interfaces to IT – with experience in consulting, research and teaching.
Since 2013, she is project manager within the program “Scientific Information: Access, Processing and Storage” (P-5) of swissuniversities, her main focus is the strategy development, development of processes, the community network and communication. She is responsible for funded projects in the area of university libraries and data management.
